AgIDG identified the core technology and coordinated the formation of the management & engineering team, and negotiated the licensing terms to form Secure Food Solutions Inc. (SFS) SFS is providing technologies for the rapid detection of toxins, pathogens and other contaminants in the world’s food supply. The company’ technology solutions are built on two principle platforms licensed from Agricultural Research Service, USDA and Mississippi State University: (1) Spectral Imaging for rapid detection of aflatoxin; and (2) Biochemical Analysis for rapid detection of foodborne pathogens. SFS has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase 1 grant for $225,000 to develop and test a specialized high resolution imaging system for rapid batch screening of aflatoxin in corn.
